Workforce Development & Job Training
The Bon Secours of Maryland Foundation (BSMF) strives to help community residents make positive steps forward in their lives. One critical aspect to a healthy life is gainful employment and that is the focus of the Career & Workforce Development Program.
The program provides four weeks of classes, Monday through Friday from 9am until 3pm and includes breakfast and lunch daily. The job training curriculum is designed to guide and direct clients in gaining employment or advancing a career goal.
Job Training Readiness Sessions Consist Of
- Developing good interview skills
- Developing good work ethics
- Learning to become self-sufficient
- Identifying appropriate work attire
- Workplace do’s and don’ts
- Anger management and conflict resolution
- Computer literacy skills including internet browser usage for the job search and email
Upon completion of the program, clients are referred to an on-site job placement specialist to assist them with finding employment.
Completion Of The Program Also Includes Three Years Of Comprehensive Follow-Up Services Including:
- Driver Education
- Homebuyer’s Club
- Free or low cost income tax preparation
BY THE NUMBERS
- More than 140 individuals have participated in the program
- 92 individuals were placed with one or more positions of employment
